you can almost see mountains
on the horizon.
if you squint hard enough, you can
almost convince yourself
that the mountains are really mountains
and not a clump of trees,
the length of a train,
the silhouette of the meat packing plant
in Schuyler
that is all that stands

between me
and your mountains.

Loved it g. Hope youre having a good time out there, and lemme just tell you: "your mountains"! That line literally shocked me. When I read it, I shuddered and involuntarily read the whole thing again. Great way to end.
